In other breaking MMA news, Brock Lesnar has been diagnosed as having an intestinal bacteria infection and the severity of which is unknown.  Dana White has already speculated that Lesnar may never fight again!  WOW!

I finally got to watch Brandon and Randy fight last night. I think it was close, it may not have been the fight everyone wanted to see. Brandon was able to do damage when not in the clinch, he hurt Randy several times, but Randy controlled most the round in the clinch and up against the cage. I think the ref should have stepped in sooner in many cases as not much was going on in some of the clinches. If this happened, I'd think Brandon would have gotten a KO, or TKO. But as the fight went I could see it being very close and Randy in control most of the time. Randy was pretty humble in the end, he know it could have gone either way, I'd like to see a rematch!!

I don't believe that you should be rewarded for holding a guy in a clinch the whole fight. If that's called "controlling" the fight, then I might as well start watching grass grow, or watch golf or something! No points for rope-a-dope in boxing. Just a strategy to tire your opponent. But you still need to fight to win. I don't see how holding Brandon the whole time, except when Brandon got the chance to hurt him when the were separated, put him in control. This sport needs MAJOR rules change to get my interest. Right now, my only interest in this sport is Kerry and Brandon! ;)

Well that is controlling the other fighter, what I think was wrong is the amount of time that the ref allowed it to go on. If your not doing anything just holding then the ref should step in and break them up, the ref should have stepped in earlier. Brandon needed to jab more to keep Randy farther away. Randy wasn't shooting on him, he was just walking in and grabbing Brandon. Once Randy was on the inside Brandon couldn't use his great kicks that were hurting Randy. It wasn't a very exciting fight, like I said if Brandon could have kept Randy off him, he would have taken Randy out!

Randy,s claim to fame is that he can take people down at will and ground and pound. Randy held Brandon,s shorts which is a foul. If you look at the fight Vertically Randys trying to get the fight to the ground Brandon keeping it up so it could be said Brandon controlled the take down....AK

I said it before.....if Randy wasn't a previous champion and a hall of famer, the judges wouldn't have given it to Randy.  Brandon had more strikes (fist and kicks) as well as a take down and a mount.  He also inflicted damage to Randy on several occassions and Randy admitted it.

Joe Rogan was right in asking Randy if Randy thought the judges decisions were fair.  Everybody who watched that fight was questioned that.  Brandon needs to hold his head up proud and move on. :2vrolijk_21:

So whose next?

I just think the ref should have broken it up when Randy was pinning Brandon to the fence, Randy was trying to do just enough to keep it in the clinch. I think it would have been a different fight in that case, Brandon clearly hurt Randy in the stand up. I didn't see the short holding, but that would be a foul after being warned. I feel bad for Brandon, because I think he was the better fighter in the bout, and it is a set back for a title shot as I'm sure you know AK. Hope to see him soon, and I'm sure he'll continue in his winning ways.

Wish we could see some of your daughters fights on TV! I've never seen the ladies on the tube.
