Corbin "Hollywood Solo" Saddle
« on: November 15, 2009, 09:54:26 PM »

Can anyone share experience with the Corbin Hollywood Solo model compared to their more common Dual Tour models?  Position forward or back, up or down, feel of the pocket, how's the nose under the legs?  Just the normal stuff.

Ooops, never mind.  Just read enough to find out the Hollywood Solo apparently doesn't accept a backrest.  Screw that.

See......that's what I'm talking about with Corbin now......a few years back they would make a adaptive mount to be able to use the backrest.  I run a saddle type solo on my softail (nostalgia), but they made it in '94.  They wouldn't even do 'heat' in a solo for my SEEG since it wasn't the 'usual' offering.   aaaaargh.  :-[ spyder

Saw that heat wasn't an option for the Hollywood solo either.  Quickly skimming through the various "standard" solo options it looked like heat was offered on some but not all.  Odd that.  Have seen many solo saddles with heat in them too.  The first tier reps on the phone only know whats printed and seem not to be allowed to go off script.  In times past have had better luck moving up the food chain a bit when working the details of an order.

It is certainly the case with them anymore that you need to know everything about what you're wanting to do before instructing them.  They can't be trusted to intuit their product on your behalf.  Was just playing with ideas tonight anyway.  Next saddle won't be a need for quite awhile.
