If your not traveling, get it replaced!

Don't f..... around trying to plug a tire and think your safe.......your not!

The only time you should plug a tire is to get you some place so you can replace it.

Yea what Dick said...

Plug it long enough to get you someplace you can get a new one.... remember you only have two tires under you.

My motorcycle mentor also said never plug a tire unless it is just to get to a repair shop. We only got two of them, they both have to be as good as they can be.

I agree with everyone else on this. I love getting a deal and saving coin, but I've never hear of anyone getting a good deal in the emergency room.

Plugging a tire is a good way to get a few weeks off work...  aka, time in the hospital.
Friends of mine that were traveling in Texas, plugged a tire just to get to the nearest dealer.
They didn't make it.  He spent 2 weeks in the hospital, she wasn't as lucky.  I think she was
there a couple of months.  Broken ribs, punctured lung, broken pelvis, both legs, and an arms.

BUY A NEW TIRE A.S.A.P.

There are 2 things I never skimp on.... tires and brakes.

Good decision... There is enough to worry about when riding... don't need the thought of "should I have replaced that tire" being one of them. :2vrolijk_21:

And mine to Dick!

Tires and brakes are the two most important things on my bike......didn't always think that way but I sure do now.  Like somebody said awhile back, if you've got a $25 head then buy a $25 helmet............after all, what's your life worth?

Yep...ditto on what everyone else said.  I've plugged a tired (I keep a tire plugging kit along with my portable air compressor) just so I could get to a dealer to replace it.  Even my plug kit states not to drive over 55 mph or 150 miles on a plugged tire before repairing or replacing.  (I'm assuming repairing means a patch for an auto/truck tire, I have been told NEVER patch a motorcycle tire, always replace).  That's a prime reason why I always include the wheel/tire road hazard warranty when I get the ESP for my bikes.  I've replaced three tires (1 front, 2 rear),  at no cost to me, due to various road hazards. (2 sheet metal screws and one nail.)  Best $300 investment IMHO.

Not Even a Thought on Kasper. I would rather walk than plug and ride. OK 2 miles maybe.

I understand the safety and insecure feeling of riding a plugged tire, but I gotta say, I've ridden motorcycles since the 60s and many many thousands of miles on plugged tires.  I currently use the mushroom plug and have worn out several tires this decade which were punctured by nails and screws.  I have a bike now with a plug in the rear tire.  Since I am the one who installs the plugs, I have confidence in how it is done.
Do what you feel secure doing, but I've never, not once, had a plug fail on cars or motorcycles in over 40 years.
