I drove from Ottawa Canada to Centre Hall to pick up my new for me SERG. Met the owner, nice guy. Got on my new ride and headed north... it was 8C (48 F) when I started out. When I got to the Canadian Border it was now 0C... 90 minutes later after telling the guards I was not a bad guy... just a retired Vet coming home with a new toy.
I was wearing complete thermal underwear, heavy woolen socks, Fleecy and snowmobile jacket. ski mask, Arctic Mittens, leather chaps and my Gortex Mil issue combat boots... with PAW heaters in the gloves and boots.
The bike was OMG impressive... but that shorty windshield is so gone, its a waste of time, so will be following the threads here on which to get. Cruise control... what a concept... love it. Drivers backrest.. always thought that was silly... not anymore, love it, and the seat was damn comfortable as well. The lower louvers worked very well.
On the road, the engine sounds comforting, but roll the throttle and OMG the power rush... no more down changing for this guy like on my metrics, just roll and go and the engine barks out, clear the way... very impressive.
So, I noticed something... I only saw one other rider, and that was back in PA, in the warm country (lol) but I got lots of people giving me thumbs up as I passed... never had that happen in 30 years of driving Yamaha's and Honda's.
This is the best bike I have ever driven, and we are going to have a long and happy love affair
