I've been accused of blasphemy!
« on: November 21, 2009, 03:10:09 PM »

I ordered the stock rider floor board brackets for 2010 Ultra so I can take off the CVO "custom" boards and chrome brackets so that I can use my Kury ISO boards (long and wide) instead.  I take the heel shifter off and on a long trip I can move my feet ALL around.  Guys at the shop thought I was nuts ( maybe I am but not about this).  I think comfort over bling...is just me, or what?

Your bike make it comfortable for you :2vrolijk_21:.... only blasphemy would be that you kept it uncomfortable because others don't agree w/your modifications.

I know it's a goofy, offbeat concept, buuut... sometimes style takes a backseat to function. If it means you can ride more or longer, then go for it, and screw the opinions of others.

I'd ride my bike if it was old, rusty, leaked oil, and was visually repulsive. At least I'd still be ridin'!

I look at it this way...it's your ride and you're free to do to it whatever you want ... and if it makes you more comfortable on the rides...then do it, and screw everybody else and their opinions.   ;)

Sometimes the guys at the dealers that make these comments don't even own the same bike as they are making the comment about.  SOoooo they really can't give an honest/accurate opinion.

Heck, I have given the dealer an education more than once on things I have learned on this site.

It's your bike make it the way YOU want it! :2vrolijk_21: and I agree with RD ----  Screw everybody else and their opinions!

My passenger adjustable boards didn't even make it off the dealers lot.   Kept the ones off the SEEG2 with the Kuryakyn high way pegs.

Naw, nothin wrong with that!  I personally have to have the heel shifter, but do plan to move the rider boards forward with that 'thing' they sell.  It'll give me a more stetched out ride.
Anyone using them yet? I want to use the original boards.

Zig since you are new you may want to check out our Vendor Discounts board you might find some of the items you want to add to your bike there (specifically the item you just mentioned). :2vrolijk_21:

Opossum, comfort and safety regarding things that make you feel right about your ride are way more important than anybody else's opinion. When you feel secure and relaxed you will be a better rider and if some situation comes up you will be able to deal with it more effectively. I also removed my heal shifter off both bikes because on occasion (Twice) my leathers got hooked on the heel shifter on my Heritage and I accidentially kicked it into first while at idle before I had the clutch in. Nothing happend but that was enough for me. Take care. CAHDBIKER
