Windshield Question
« on: November 23, 2009, 02:51:06 PM »

Well I'm right at 6" tall depending which convenient store I'm coming out of, (Ron White) and the windshield seems to be the wrong size for me. It's either to short to to tall. Anyone else thinking about a change. If so Pic's please.

Thanks,
Chris

I changed my stock w/s to a 11.5 Cee Baileys. Not very happy, must have ordered too short. Had alot of wind pressure on top my helmet.

Changed Cee Baileys to Long Ride Shield 10". Very Satisfied w/ this LRS. Less buffeting than stock and color suits the bike.

Have a Clearveiw 9.5" light smoke with recurve. I'm 6'2" and look over it even when slide down in seat. Can see though it when I need to even with the light tint. They give a discount to CVO members.

I'm not being smart, but the stock windshield is so unoptically clear, that when I did the 25 mile test ride into the sun, the distortion was distracting.

I took my 10" Clearview with recurve off my old bike at delivery and installed on the citrus.  I am 6'1" and still look over it with the stock seat.  Don't know how it will work with the Corbin that is ordered.

As Redrodo stated, Clearview gives site members a discount and will make any size you want.  Also look at their "blems" that are discounted even more and the one I got for my wife, couldn't see a thing wrong with it.

You can install the Clearview and ride with the protective coating still on it.  If you don't like it, they will return as long as you don't take the coating off.

Email John at Clearview and he will tell you about the blems and their shields.  www.clearviewshields.com

Could I ask some of you guys to post some pics of you new windshields. I also need to know if I'm measuring correctly, I just measured top to bottom and got 10", I know just leaver it alone. I'm guessing I need a 7 or 8 inch so I can clearly see over it.

Thanks,
Chris

I bought this shield at the end of 2005 and found their invoice.

RHAR-LH 10A        FLHT short 9" with recurve           $65.29
A Tint                 Tint-smoke                                  14.00
Modification          Change height to 10.75"                30.00

Go to their website and read about measuring for your height and whether a stock shield will work or whether you need a custom height.
Also, look at their blems which is a savings.  Bought one for my wife's bike and their was nothing wrong with it.
John gives us 10% off.  (not blems)
Call or email him and they answer all questions.
