Freedom pipes have arrived!!!!!!!!
« on: December 29, 2005, 11:43:36 PM »

The pipes arrived tonight, UPS at my door at 830 PM? Whats up with that? Not that I'm complaining! Anyway, the last piece of the puzzle is the Race Tuner, should be here in a few days. I've got the map, I'll be calling for advice, I've got the numbers, as soon as I have all the pieces.  Pictures of course to follow ASAP. The slipons themselves have a few blemishes from the box, I'm hoping they'll polish off. I'm getting very excited.

Didnt want to start a new thread and get in trouble. I got the pipes and havent had them installed yet, but heres the question now. I dont like the tips. I think they look cheesy, I tried to turn them over and the holes just didnt line up. I started to strip the threads trying to force it so I stopped. I emailed them and they said they dont sell the plain tips. Everybody wants to put thier name on my bike, you have to pay to put your name on my bike.

Yes, I turned mine over. You do have to drill and tap a new hole into the endcap. Its really easy if you have the tap set. If not You can send them to me and i'll do it for you.

Ya All,

I have the Freedom Cycle Pipes, with the saddle bags on, I do not even notice the pipes or the "Freedom Cycle" logo on the end caps, and a lot of people don't either. What they notice the most is the sound at idle and when you really get into the throttle.

Freedom pipe owners:  Do any of you guys have a gap between the front cylinder head pipe heat shield and where it links up with the rest of the heat shield (just ahead of the timer cover)?  Just wondering if I screwed up or that's just the way the heat shields are designed. I know it's a minor thing, but the headpipe is exposed where the two heat shields meet and you can see the heat discoloration.  Thanks, PJ

They're on, and they're AWESOME  I mean this is like a whole new bike!  Awesome sound, the bike is like riding something new, with a whole bunch more HP!! I dont have a scanner, but the dyno sheet was, 101.6 HP  106.8TQ!!!! Racetuner, Arlen Ness Big Sucka!! and the Freedoms, I hate the logo though, too cheesy. It sticks out like a sore thumb!!

BUT--- There's always a but, It seems to be riding rougher. Like more vibration? Smooth at high RPM's but more something, that I dont like. I havent ridden too much though, more to come. My tuner liked the pipes. But allot quicker.

CVO;
Sounds like you have a good tuner. The numbers are right in line with others here. I think your the first that has used the Freedoms with the Race Tuner. I would like to see your sheet, maybe you could mail it and i'll post it up?

Also, Make sure that the front pipe and or heat shield is not contacting the rear brake pedal arm. It is a VERY close fit and the added vibration that you feel is probably it hitting.

And the offer still stands if you want me to tap out the holes so you can rotate your caps [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
