I too wondered about the weight issue. I went with 13" ST shocks and have no problems with them. With that being said I only have about 50 miles on them. But they ate much better than the stock ones. talk to Jim he will help you out. Easy install too.

I bought a set of the 2010 HD Shocks from "sesgrob" (Thank you Rob) I installed them yesterday and the wife and I went for a 3 hour ride today.
We both agreed these shocks are better than the stock air ride shocks. I adjusted the damping on them to the heaviest setting and ended up at the end of our ride at about "15 clicks" below that setting. Our combined weight without gear is about 320 lbs. The bike did not bottom out. It was a lot more stable when touching the floorboards. Time will tell how they hold up.
