Front forks

According to the Touring Service Manual all FLH bikes made since 2002, except Road King, have a cartridge front fork.

I think the SEEG2's are also the same as yours (forks).  Don't you have to pull the outer or inner fairing off to install the new fork oil?  The 06 Ultra's may be different?  I think on a regular Glide or Ultra, they have 1 of each type fork.  Other members please advise.  Also did they use the heavier SE fork oil?  Does it ride/handle different?  Thanks.

Only one of the forks is cartridge type on the other touring bikes. Thought I'd post this and save a few guys some time & money when it comes to changing fork oil. I have known the tech working on my bike for several years & he is one of the top two at the dealership. He suggested NOT using the heavy fork oil for a better ride & handling so I went with Type E (regular). Bike goes on the Dyno tomorrow. I really won't get to see how it handles till Feb 20 when I leave frozen Ohio & go to New Smyrna Beach Fla. for a month.

The fork oil will end up being a rider's choice type of thing.  For my tastes when the bike was new it dove to much under breaking and was soft up front.  I went to the heavy SE fork oil at 1000 miles.  Much prefer it.
