Saddlebag Latch Inserts
« on: November 28, 2009, 08:55:02 PM »

Looking for suggestions / recommendations...

Doing the hard bag "thing" for an '08 SERK so I just ordered new saddlebag hardware.  I want to use the standard latch covers but I'm not real keen on using the reflectors so I'm looking for suggestions from the masses here on options for latch cover inserts...

I saw a few when doing a search but thought I'd start the thread with a clean slate.  Links / pictures would certainly be appreciated.

:znothingfunny:

Thanks in advance.   :2vrolijk_21:

I like these....

This sweep of chrome will set the tone for a very special Touring custom. Manufactured from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this polished and plated latch replaces the Original Equipment saddlebag latch for a striking look. The "ballmilled" design and curved leading and trailing edge add a feeling of forward motion, even while parked on Main Street. Kit includes chrome-plated mounting hardware and saddlebag-mounted reflectors.

 90645-03A

Fits '93-later Touring models equipped with hard saddlebags. HDI models require separate purchase of Reflector P/N 59289-92 and 59290-92.

MSRP US $129.95

and have them installed on my bike. :2vrolijk_21:

or for less money...these...

That was more along the lines of what I'm looking for... just the inserts.  I'd kind of like to keep the standard latch covers.

I did find these and thought they were kind of interesting and not your run of the mill type stuff...

Anybody tried them or seen them in person?

I checked out the site and these look great.  They are on my Christmas list for sure. They have many other interesting products for derby & timing covers, dash and caliper inserts and more.  Too much for me, but the latch inserts will be mine!

I just finished a custom CVO air cleaner insert and am wondering what you guys think about it? This is a bolt on replacement with new chrome hardware. The insert will retail for $100 - $140 depending on the type of glass.
And yes I read the rules about shameful self promotion and happily offer 10% off to members of this forum  8)

I'm doing a set of inserts in Tequila sunrise for an SESG. removing the reflectors, yaaaa,
and inserting a fabbed piece painted to match. since I'm painting the TP & lower fairings it shouldn't be difficult
