I know this might be unrealistic but the fix certainly looks simple enough to do while you wait as it should only take 5 - 10 minutes.

I rode to the Harley shop this morning.
Got there at 8:10
They did the recall for the tank.
I rolled out at 8:30 as the sleet was starting to come down.
Here's a few pictures of the pieces.

The black covers replace the metal ones.
They gave me the metal ones so I could install if I wanted.

Pat (the Tech) showed me on a new 2010 where they were coming from the factory with the bracket installed.
Harley is also now welding the tank tab on the side that shows for added support.
I attached a picture showing where the 2010's tank tabs are welded. The 09's are not welded here.
