Spyder,
Ya that's what I thought, by the looks of the website, and them not showing it move at all. I wouldnt even debate the looks.
I think I just may go with the Road King solo, to have the Close model instead of the standard. bring myself a little closer to the front.
So ? when the passenger hops on do you pull out your backrest? or not.
Thanks,
Mark [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

The backrest is not able to swing forward or back, however, I keep mine not bolted down - an option - and I can just pull it out.  But if you are riding solo, where are you putting your passenger?  Cause last year, when my husband's bike broke down in Tennessee, I looked at that rear fender to see if I thought I could ride there - and that rail around the solo looked a little intimidating.    ;)

One thing to keep in mind for those that are considering adding the Solo to the seat repertoire.  If the solo is you're only seat, no big deal.  But if you're thinking about swapping back and forth with any regularity from the dual to the solo you'll probably have more to swap than just the seat.

Can not imagine that the little bracket that bolts down on the fender to work as the rear mount for the solo seat would not be an obstruction for the dual.  Not a big deal to take that little bugger on and off.  But it likely will be just a little extra to the chore each time rather than just picking up one seat and setting down the other one.

Mark, mine was not on the Corbin website but they do have them in stock in Florida with and without the studs. When I called to order mine, the guy there said he thought it would look better and he sees them all. I went with his suggestion, glad I did. He even called me the day after it was delivered to see if I was satisfied with the order, that's what I call service. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
MJZ,
Thats way cool, and I just had got the number from Corbin email reply just now as well, Corbin # is 297 for it.
And the RK-pad for the passenger backrest looks like it's mate, and they claim it will fit the CVO upright on the website too. So I shouldnt need to buy a different upright to accomodate the touring pillion I hope.
Well looks like I've got all my decisions done time to order it up [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

You maybe right; I've quickly become accustomed to not hearing "slow down, watch that car, I need to stop there and pick up something, are you just looking for those bumps, oh, turn in there (a furniture store) and last but certainly not least; look for a clean bathroom, I need to stop" (for the 8th time in 80 miles).
I must have some issues. :o

Mark, I did the mod yesterday. It was very easy, even for me. Twolane put up a great "how to for dummies" map mto follow at http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1111375290/0#0
It took less than an hour because mine does not have the heating element, so I did not have to worry about the vapor barrier.
Twolane, thanks so much for the post, it made the task very simple. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Aw shucks  [smiley=blush.gif]

MJ, Mark; you know what guys?  I'm just glad some of that stuff still occasionally proves helpful.  I've certainly taken advantage of some of the efforts of others here as well.  There's no sense in any of us figuring out something a second time if someone has already done it.
