(...) 1/3 way there my fingers were freezing, 2/3way there i couldnt feel them any more (...) and the pain was indescribeable, i couldnt use my fingers (...) but it was still freezing (...) to excercise my fingers.(...) fingers were really hurting when defrosting (...)

Sometime, somewhere I read something about some heated grips. Ah, yeah, it was in the manual of my CVO Ultra ;-)
