2004 SEEG
« on: January 03, 2006, 09:06:46 PM »

New to this site and proud new owner of a 2004 SEEG with bassani duals and revtech dfo.  Would like to change out the stock seat to a Corbin.  I ride 99% solo so I am looking at the Rumble seat (just in case the 1% needs a ride) or stinger model.  Can anyone provide feedback on either of these?  Is riding position lower or further back than stock seat?

Welcome to the site Pete

I have never used a Corbin seat but I know of there quality and attention to detail
I see your on the East Side if you go to Daytona, this year look up the Corbin Showroom
Currently I live on the West Side and I have toured the Corbin facilities in Hollister, CA - State of the Art

BTW - Corbin is like Burger King - "have it your way" just contact them and request how you want your seat and they will build it that way.

Welcome Pete,

I am also new here and it seems a good place to be.With regard to the seat I have had corbin seats on Goldwing and on Valkyrie and they have always been first class.

I have the standard seat on this bike and have yet to find any problems.

Have ridden the Corbin Stinger on my '04 SEEG for about 12K.  Great seat, especially if you want to lower the seat height an additional 1 1/2 inches.  Some don't, but for me you just can't get a bike low enough.

John, I like the look of the stinger especially with the backrest for long rides.  Since we both have the same color bike, can you post a pic?  How do you rate the comfort compared to the stock seat?

Welcome to the Site!  Isn't Smithfield between the James River Bridge an Chesapeake?  Was in that part of the Country for a while, years back.  Later--HUBBARD

Hey Pete, welcome to the site.  You posted a great question....one that I'm still wrestling with on this SEEG.  I'm still on the stock seat (35,000miles) and I love the looks of it, the low height, but........it's not very comfortable on longer rides.  The narrow shape is what makes it look so good on the bike and what makes it uncomfortable.  I've got a solo Corbin on my softtail (98,000miles) and it's comfortable (with the backrest on) for longer trips.  Anyway, you might wanna try a Corbin.  Let us know if you do... Have had Corbins on my last 2 bikes - wouldn't ride w/ anything else - the naviguesser loves them! I put the dual tour w/ heat on the SEEG right out of the box. Have had a few 1000mi + days on it & could have gone longer - no complaints from the rear (both her's & mine)! Be prepared though - it takes 1500 mi or so to get them moulded to your cheeks - then you're set!

I have had a corbin seat first on my 95th Anniversary Road King, and then I moved it over to the SEEG first days of riding.
