Tuners in Washington State
« on: December 21, 2009, 09:43:53 PM »

Did a search but could not find any info?

Could you guys help me out with a Good Tuner in Washington state.  I have decided to get my bike dyno tuned as a Christmas present to me - Not sure why I have waited so long :-\ but it is time.

I would like to find someone in the Silverdale/Bremerton area but of course would drive to Seattle to get the best.

Thanks :2vrolijk_21:

T MAC.

From what i Have hears Latus HD are supposed to be pretty knowledgeable and good at tuning HD. No personal work done for me. If you want one of the best in the Northwes and you don't mind going up to Abbostford BC. Lee and Darrlell at JARZ Performane are the best. They have done 4 tune over the last six years, have always found HP and TQ others couldn't.

They are 1000 miles round trip for me to use.

If you go with Latus HD the only person you want is MIKE STEGMAN

Jarz did the tune after the local HD dealer screwed it up.  Fixed the stumble off idle, popping on decel and picked up the hp and torque numbers.
Will have them put cams and head gaskets in this spring and retune for the upgrades and true dual exhaust on the SERG.
Make the trip north of the border, you won't be sorry.

Same input
We use Jarz
Another tuner to consider is Russel Inglis rdinglis@shaw.ca in Nanimo
Sound HD I talked to the tech and he knew the right jargon but no experiece with them. Most tune to a time and quit. The TTS saves time so allows the power hunting after the basics are covered.

Thanks Guys,

I will give Jarz a call in the new year and see what his schedule is.  I would still like to find someone closer BUT I really do want the Best - Jarz is only about 4 hour trip from PT with the ferry ride and from your feedback well worth the trip.

Thank You Very Much :2vrolijk_21:

Don, thanks for the recomendation. Tmac I'm in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island just across the water from you. What do you want to tune your bike with? I've done 2 of the 09 FLTRSE3's and one identical to yours. The one with throttle cables actually makes better numbers. :orange: They tune nice with TTS.

Destination uses TTS and did some good work on my 06 SG. The tuners name was Rich. I don't know if he still works there or not. Please post your experience after you get back from BC. I will be needing a tune when I am ready to do heads and cams in the near future.

Did somebody say Destination?
Sure I would use them they are 5 miles away. But NOT
You will get a higher caliber tune from Russel.

PT stands for Port Townsend ( don't  know if you knew that) - its a 4 hour trip and that is if customs is not backed up.  I used to date a lady in Abbotsford no way to get there any faster than 4 hours.  I know I have left at morning, noon and night to go see her;D  Ferry also is a BIG factor - we have been down to one boat for a while and you have to have a reservation and be at the PT or Keystone terminal 30 minutes to departure or you lose your spot even being a motorcycle - no exceptions.   Taking Kingston ferry adds 45 minutes to the trip but catching a boat is no problem, with the new policy at PT Keystone this might be  faster now - when I took the ferry this was not the case.

:orange:  There is Robert of R & R American Cycle in Auburn Washington also.  His number is 253-520-5520.  He did a grewt job on my 2004 Heritage Softail.  If interested let him know that Bobby Phillips Referred you.  Him and his staff are a bunch of great folks.  :orange:

R&R used to be Power Commander territory only, linktune to an AFR and send it down the road, no individual cylinders no timing unless there was a problem.
No SERT or TTS tuning done there.
Times change and they may have.
