Look up "MCHITCH"
See if they have anything that will work for you.
I talked to them last summer, and they were way more than helpful.

I looked at MCHitch but I wasn't real crazy about their design. They don't hide the hitch real well at the back of the bike. The hitch sticks out from each side of the fender. I guess if you don't mind that look it's worth looking into. The price is a lot cheaper than the Bushtec hitch

I agree about the visibility, it blends in pretty well with rear fenders that have the bumper.
My '09 Ultra was black with bumper and hidden pretty well. I have to say the hitch worked out perfect for my needs. It's pretty beefy!

The other bikes without bumpers will show more hitch, and stand out more with different colors.

Anything is cheaper than Bushtec.  If their quality has dropped off, John must not be involved in the process anymore.

I agree, looks as though it is welded off center, have you measured it to see if that is the case?

Usually Bushtec is a first class item, may have been made after the sale of the company.
I too am having the same problems as lvse110se5
I've been looking at this hitch I bought from Bushtec wondering what to do. I called Jamie at Bushtec and told her the problems, then I was transfered to Andrew, and then to someone else. I'm not totaly sure, but IMO they know they have a problem, but they're blaming it on HD. Bushtec also informed me they are working on a new center piece that the Box tubing is adjustable so a person can square it up with the rear fender. But they didn't have one in stock to send me.
I took the hitch on the bench and put a square and a tape messure to it, this hitch is far from being straight. Bushtec said that's the pattern they got off the 09 bike. I was told HD must have changed things on the 2010.
With this hitch being so out of square, I can see why the Box tubing is off center of the rear fender. I don't think I'm going to put washers on one side to shim it out.
Still waiting to hear back from Bushtec on what to do from here....

I will live with this.  Not perfect but liveable.

Jamie told me about the new center piece that was adjustable side to side but wasn't available for our Version 2 hitches.  Version 1 is for Ultra's with rear bumpers and Version 3 is for Streetglides/SERG's..

No matter what Version you get, the receiver shown in my picture is visible.  With my SEEG2, you could hide that hitch with a bumper or FLHX fender extension.

Three flat washers on the belt side saddlebag/exhaust support thru bolt and held the center bracket all the way to the belt side while tightening the bolts.  Helps to have a helper in doing this but I wasn't that lucky.

I built my own bushtec hitch out of stainless still, polished it out and don't need the bumper. Something you might want to check, and someone may have already told you, I have had to realign the rear fenders on alot of my buds bikes. Check to see if you fender may be off. Thats what it looks like in the picture. Hope this helps.
