I find it a little distrubing that some Harley Dealers will gouge the customer that much because they can,  while others will stay reasonable.   I think it's a pretty good judge of character personally.   I told the salesman that I recently dealt with, that I didn't think he needed to make $10k profit from one customer.
I'd be willing to bet that when those customers come into the Boston store that paid $43k they get treated just like the guy that bought a sportster until they walk out the door, and then the sales guys/gals say,  "can you believe we hooked that dummy for $43K"

Just one reporter opinion though!!!

I completely understand supply and demand.  For those of you that have more money than sense,  pay the high price.  I don't have that luxury.  And when you can drive 50 miles for a $4000 discount, WHY wouldn't you?

As far as the dealer making profit,  I don't know that there is a point where the profit is too much.  If I owned a dealer I would get whatever the market would bear.  Since bikes are a WANT and not a NEED some people will just roll over and pay the prices.  However, I would expect to give some incredible service to go along with the higher prices and I just don't see that happening.

Have a great and safe weekend.

Yep, we stopped in a couple of his stores down there Harry.  He's selling to those with more money than brains. :nixweiss:
