The black out CVO is the ugliest thing I have seen. But as they say;there is a seat for every bu-.

just heard the latest gossip: all other FLHTCUSE5 colours are already discontinued, only the new colour scheme will be produced for the rest of mod. year 2010.

Over here customers who ordered one of the other colours are contacted and politely asked to change to black or wait for mod. year 2011.

And quite a lot of orders for FLHTCUSE5 and FLHXSE dating back to December 2009 are not even confirmed yet. It's supposed to be very hard to get hold of one of those FLHTCUSE5 left to be produced, no orders for the "black" scheme are confirmed in Europe as of today ...

I was hoping to get a black SEUC, but wanted to see it in person. I did that this weekend in Chicago. Screamin has some great close up pictures posted. To me the bike does look great close up, say 5-7 feet, great detail, two tone, red pins to accent the flames, awesome.....but stand back 12-15 feet, the detail is very faint, take 2 more steps back and it looks like black bike!! I have a brochure and was hoping that the bike looked as it appearred that. It does close up only, but just a few step back, not show much. I took my name off of the list. The opinion of my buddies and myself, was similar to many posting in this thread. Paint scheme with chrome would probably look much better!!

I agree, On a crystal clear sunny day with a "show" quality detail I'm sure it would be stunning  :2vrolijk_21:
fall behind on the detail attention and won't take long for it to look like these drury cloudy winter days here in cental Illinois. :'(

Originally I heard that it was just the Citrus that was being replaced with the "Dark", and now I hear it is ALL colours!

It's totally of a character for the MoCo to inform us of any future models, ("politely asked to change to black or wait for mod. year 2011.")  Hmmmm!

Hans, I am not certain if anyone in Europe has been asked to "change to black" from any of the other colors. In numbers there is only one black Ultra for every six or seven to be made available in Europe. In Germany, e.g., not every dealer is getting one, while most of them have two or even three of the others. With almost no 2010 CVO Ultras delivered as of yet, I simply can't imagine the "change to black". Our dealer is the largest in Germany, and they could so far secure only one black. That is the one I have a grip on and hope to close sometime next week. No delivery date as of yet.

Ride safely,
Louis

PS: @dwille1498 I think that the entire paint scheme fades to black a few steps away is the coolest part of the entire design.

@Louis:

There are only 3 month left to produce those 999 "black" bikes and evidently they just can't build more of any other colour besides. There may be some still in delivery for us but that's it. "Restructuring" the York factory obviously also means down-sizing the output significantly - Harley expects to ship just some 2 thirds of the former numbers in 2010. That's effecting CVOs too.

B.t.w. not one single order for a black one was "confirmed" by Mörfelden as of friday.

And yes, you are right, the fading out of all other colours from a distance ist definitely the beauty of that colour scheme - in our eyes  ;)

But let's wait and see. We will know better in a couple of weeks.

Louis, I agree that the fade away is cool, it just wasn't for me. I use to own a Big Dog which looked solid maroon form 15 feet, but as you got closer camillion flames would appear.

I have a confirmed order now. Scheduled delivery is April (keep your fingers crossed;-).
@kraut
The production capability for CVO Ultras is well over 500/month. 2011 my production (if things remain as usual) should start after June. If they sell, besides the 999 blackies approx. another 1,500 bikes could be built. That is, of course, only technically speaking. Taking lower numbers of past years into account, as well as the lower production because of decreased sales, it could be very well that not many more CVO Ultras are built beyond the blackies, and the ones already ordered and confirmed. That would result in higher resale values, by the way.

@Louis:

congrats  ;)

delivery in April means production date is approx. 6 weeks earlier - so today or tomorrow.

If they build smaller numbers perhaps they build higher quality ...

Thanks for the pics Screamin.  Best detail I've seen yet.  MoCo is keeping this one a guarded secret with the release of only a few pics that are hard to see detail.

Thanks again.  More pics would be appreciated.

 Thanks for the pics that have been posted. I would like to see some more. It is just hard to put down money on just a few pics. Or if any one can tell me where to look would be fine. :)
