Today I found out that a $500. part I ordered from my dealer 2 weeks ago I will not be getting, and they are refunding my money back, I asked why no part, they said that Harley is holding all there order parts, I asked if they were closing they said no it was some kind of political bull crap, And I am not the only one who got the call. doe's any one know if any thing is going on in any other dealers.

It's great that you got your money back.  Dealer could be on COD with the MOCO?     :nixweiss:

Yep, the only reason that makes sense would be that the dealer is now on a COD basis with the MoCo.

No doubt there'll be many more going that way in the coming months.

After such a terrible year for most dealers, this winter could prove to be too much.

Hope not, but that's the "sign of the times" these days.

The part was a new speedometer with a tack. witch I had to pay in full up front because they were to put the mileage on it.

My dealer (St Paul HD) requires 1/2 down deposit on special order parts.

It all depends on the dealer and how they do business.  All of the dealers that I go to around here (Central and Northern Virginia) require payment in full up front on all special order parts.
