Who knows??
« on: January 09, 2010, 12:13:07 PM »

When I bought the last three Harleys, I received a very nice plaque that has the bike serial number and a colored picture of the bike. It stated this bike has been especially built for Ken ---. Can anyone tell me if these come from the MOCO or did the dealers ( two different dealers) have those made up? I have not received one for the 2010 yet (third dealer). They look nice hanging on the garage wall. Just wondering if the MOCO just has not sent it yet, or if I need to light a fire under my dealers a**.

I got a plaque when I bought my '05 from Daytona Harley and I didn't when I bought my '03 so it must be a dealer item.

It's a dealer thing, however you may want to look at this old thread - Wall Plaque Of Your Motorcycle and try contacting that company and see if they are still making them.

I just got mine yesterday, it is from a differant company, picked up my bike 17 Oct.  Must take a lot longer for the CVO plaque to be made or somethin cause there was also a VIP card for 15% one time off motor clothes, but the card said good only for 60 days after bike purchase.

I received a little black folder with just a certificate inside.  I thought this was a replacement to the plaque?  Has anyone received both the plaque and the little certificate?

Was that for a specific dealer (the one you purchased the bike from)?

The dealer Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson, Red Deer, Alberta sent me a plaque when I bought my 2010 ULTRA Limited from them in September.

Yep, plastic like a credit card with my name and the dealers logo and name, came in the box with the plaque and with a congrats note from the GM with my VIN and name printed as well.

I doubt you'll have to light a fire at all, just ask your dealer that should do.

OK, more reason to believe that this plaque is a dealer incentive and not something from the MoCo. You mention a new company doing it now... what company is that? Those that want one may be able to contact them and get one made. :nixweiss:

Called the dealer today that sold me the bike. Salesman stated that program is dealer specific and not a MOCO deal. He said that they dropped that program when the economy went south. I guess I can understand, as I have only dumped about $42,000.00 at their dealership in the past three months (out the door price with options and taxes). They probably did not have enough left over to pay $50.00 for a plaque. I only bought from  this dealer because they were the only ones that had the bike I wanted at the time. I will not be helping "their" economy any longer. >:(

Wouldn't hurt to call MOCO, all they can say is no.

Tell them that's the only reason you bought the bike, worth a shot..... :nixweiss:
