Fork Nuts
« on: January 12, 2006, 10:55:34 PM »

What I love about this site is the stuff I learn, often I learn more than I knew I needed to know, retaining this info can be a challenge for my slow functioning brain these days. Some time ago I was checking out some links that got me waylayed from here and ran across a guy that made billet chrome fork ends I guess you'd call them. They went on the bottom of the forks and had recessed holes for the nuts making the forks look like they came to a smooth finish. The guy is just a small outfit with a simple website and I cant find it anywhere. I remember they were like $99 - anyhow I wondered if anyone else could point me in the right direction. Thanks

It may do the same thing - I don't quite get what that covers. The thing I saw is not so much the axle as it is below there, the bottom of the fork only on the right / throttle. The left side is smooth with just a hole for the axle and axle nut. On the right/throttle side the fork  is split with the bottom c shaped peice held on with acorn nuts to the fork. The peice I saw was a billet chrome peice that replaced that bottom c shaped peice just a little longer with recessed holes for the nuts to submerge into giving you the clean look of the left side while still being functionally removeable. God I feel like such an anal freak looking for a peice like this but after seing it and looking at my roadking that I thought had the perfect finished look - this part sticks out to me now.

Ok - I finally found them, and I know its a lil anal - OCD - whatever you may call it, but - I gotta have it. Didn't know I needed it til the day after I saw them when I was in the garage and noticed that spot on my SEEG.  As I said earlier, last week I got home to find 5 huge boxes of goodies, I unpacked and perused, checked the site for info and the ordered hundreds of dollars more I "needed" since I was gonna have this part off or that part apart or whatever, then this week drivin down the road thinking about the battle plan with the new parts and the parts on order and realized I forgot to order the main part that I needed in the follow up order! So back online and look that up and what do I find - The item I wanted months ago and couldn't find! So much for this bike being "loaded" - anyhow I digress - here's the link - another Item you didn't know you wanted - I feel a lil guilty passing it on, kinda like spreading the virus.......

By the way - get it on bikernet for 20$ less...

You'd just need one per bike.
