TTS without o2 tuning.
« on: January 19, 2010, 05:46:57 PM »

What I have is a 06 SEFB. I currently have the V&H 2-1 pro pipe, It is on a stock tune as I bought that way. I am wanting to go to a big radius 2-2 pipe along with a heavy breather at once. Along with the TTS. I also notice no o2. My question is I have intent of Putting the pipe and Intake put on and then going to get it dyno tuned. I know that most will not spend the money on a dyno tune till the modifications are more extent. But I spent the money I did on the bike and don't mind spending more to get it running to full potential. What I would really like to know is do I need to order pipes with an o2 or can I get them without and still have it tuned without. What is the most logical and recommended method?

dead:

IMO, I would order the '07 pipes with O2 sensor ports.  Then, if you decide to upgrade to using O2 sensors, you are only going to be out a few dollars for the wiring harness' and sensors.  Page 82 of the TTS Tuning Guide has a list of parts needed to make the conversion.

The VTune Software is worth the "price of admission" by itself!

Never thought of that. I could just plug the bungs until i decide to use them and if not no foul. Would be alot better than buying new pipes or welding bungs in myself.
As for tuning it can be tuned without correct? On a dyno.

IIRC, the pipes usually come with plugs in the O2 bungs.

And yes it can be tuned without.  This also gives the dyno tuner the option of using your O2 ports for his own sensors while tuning!

Thanks. Exactly what I needed to know. Hoping I can get this done before Daytona.

I'm running my '06 Road King FLHRI with added '07 o2's in close loop with TTS Mastertuner.  Its well worth the conversion. Lot cooler and better mileage.

IMO, its time to add them now.

So the 07+ pipes will mount the same? They will just have the o2 bung?

If your using stock pipes you can get the head pipes for an '07 and swap them out.

If they are after market pipes and don't have o2 sensor bungs installed you can have the bungs installed.

If your going to order after market pipes then specify them with o2 bungs installed. That way until your ready to tune you can just run them plugged off.

My pipes are not stock. They are RS Racing LSR Black Hole 2 into 1 Quiet pipes with o2 bungs installed. They work great.
