Stock 2010 Ultra CVO torque?
« on: January 19, 2010, 08:45:46 PM »

Harley Claims 115. Who's dyno'd the stock 2010? Would be interested to know if that number is for real.

That HP number is from the crank and not from the rear wheel.

So would that make the one dyno chart of a stock engine that I've seen showing 99.89 max Torque at about 3800 about right?

Probably so. Someone somewhere had a formula that converted crank HP to rear wheel HP here, but I would say that figure/conversion would be close to correct. :nixweiss:

Thanks. I'm new to this performance game and trying to get my head around all of it.

Rear wheel average numbers are around 80 hp and 95 lb-ft.  See attachment from H-D for the 110 Stage 1, which is what comes on the CVO's.

Here's the dyno from my absolutely stock 2010 SEUC after 500 miles break-in. I had this dyno run to establish a baseline for the engine work I was doing. Pretty dismal performance for a 110 cubic inch engine.  77hp 100ft lbs

The peak numbers are OK, but WTF with the huge dip from 1700 to 2200 rpm (and the smaller dip from 2500 to 3000 rpm)?  Is this typical on the 2010s?

I can't say if it's typical, but it certainly represents the 2010 110 engine in my bike as it came tuned from the factory with the stock exhaust. Many others have found that adding tuning software and a dyno tune from an experienced tech can work wonders (not magic of course) on the stock engine.

That dyno (albeit made to look a bit better than real life) as well as Heatwaves dyno sheet are consistent with the information I have seen. That unfortunate dip in your dyno Heatwave has also shown it's ugly head in other stock dyno's that I've seen. Fullsac also dyno'd a stock 110 with similar but not quite as severe results. Seems as though Harley has done the best they can with government restrictions but obviously, additional tuning is essential to overcome those consistant and rather serious shortcomings. The 110 is capable of so much more.

Its worth noting that I was able to get far more power after  my engine upgrade. The engine build included headwork (Hillside, 10.5comp), larger injectors, 58MM TB, Woods 408-6 cams, SuperTuner, Fullsac 2.25" baffles and removing the Cat from the stock exhaust. The build generated the dyno below (108HP 108 Tq). This engine build resulted in a 31hp (40%) increase in power and a 8 ft lb (8%) increase in torque.

I wasn't satisifed with this performance so I have since upgraded the exhaust to a FatCat Boss 2:1 with Ghost pipe. The bike is currently at the dealer for tuning and I should have new performance data by the weekend.

Looks to me like it holds that torque curve for a long time. What difference have you noted in throttle response?

Throttle response is excellent. I just know from other builds that this engine build can deliver more hp and tq with a better exhaust. Hopefully th upcoming tuning results will prove that to be true.

I'd like to see the results of going from a 2-2 to 2-1 without any additional hardware. Please post those results in this thread and if you can manage a few photos, I'm sure several of us would like to see that pipe on your bike from a few different angles.

You can view pictures of my 2010 SEUC with the D&D Boss 2:1 (with and without the ghost pipe) at this thread:
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=44255.0

I hope to have more details on the performance (both in the seat and on a dyno graph) this weekend or sometime next week.
