I wear a full face black HJC FS-15 Motorcycle Helmet. I have ear pieses in the helmet for the CB/Intecom so I do not wear ear plugs although I do hear the exhoust. I also have tenitis but it was not from the bike and I am not sure what it was caused from but it is a pain in the ass so I would suggest wearing them if you can.

All the time with a full face helmet.  Cost about 12 cents per pair.  Always keep several extras on the bike.  A good friend of mine nevers has worn ear plugs and is now almost completely deaf on the right and about 1/2 gone on the right (not just from riding, but from work and home noise).  I take bare of my ears and eyes cause I only have 2 of each.  Also I get annual hearing checks at work and I've remained constant over the past 10-12 years...no loss and still have good hearing even at the higher frequencies.  I find these very comfortable and I can still hear the radio and intercom thru the helmet headset without having to turn the volume up,  I think it actually helps due to blocking out some of the background noise.

I'll wear 'em on a long trips only.  I wear the disposable foam type.  They really help with the exhaust noise when I'm in the saddle for 8-10 hours...

I wear the custom molded EAR Inc. c/w speakers. Also sometimes I will wear the Shure Ear Phones.

With the EAR Inc. units, when I turn the music off I can hear conversation around me. Also use them when I visit compressor stations, refineries and pulp mills which when in operation are really loud.

I always do, whether I'm wearing a short or full face- cuts out the wind noise, protects your hearing over the long run, plus prevents a bee or something from flying into your ear at 80 mph....hey, you never know.

I was getting tired of buying packages with a set of 5 in there, so I bought a box (with a couple hundred), from an industrial supply store. Can't remember which brand.

I ware the foam kind when I remember.Keep a couple pairs in the tank bag on trips so I can put them in on the fly when I forget. Not a lot of hearing left after using an impact wrench for 35 years.Don't feel as tired after a long day.

For short trips or times when I don't want music it's Skullscrews all the way ( http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/penesksceabo.html ) just love 'em. At 27 cents a pair they can't be beat!

For longer trips and times when I want tunes, it's custom fit earmolds on the end of Shure SE 530's with Push to Talk. Makes the road tunes playlist sound great!

It sounds kinda  crazy but when I'm on the slab ear plugs help me hear the radio better by blocking out the wind thrashing.

You're absolutely right.  It filters out the extraneous noise...

Who wears earplugs while riding (and not while your wife is talking to you) and what type do you use?

I use them on long rides. Big Ear Brand.... you can find them at the major rallies... will fit you with a custom mold while you wait.

I usually ride with custom made earphones and play my I-pod or use custom made molded ear plugs.  I usually only use them on long trips.  Rineharts wear you out after a day of riding.

Cheers, Moe

Wear them all the time.........especially following Moe  ::)
