Final assembly of my bike has started.

What is done is:
Frame stripped and powdercoated black, tins at the painter, will be silverflake and black scallops.
Springer raked 4 degrees, makes a huge difference, and will improve handling since I will lower the rear aprox 2".
Heartland kit 200 will be mounted, extended foot controls. All nut and bolts chromed. Engine mounts and fender mounts, caliper mounts and other stuff either powdercoated black or chromed. I was going with the V&H big radius 2-1, but I have now ordered V&H Short shots chrome. I think it will go better with the general look of this bike.
Sorry for poor quality pic, will upload better pics as the build continues.
The aim is to have the bike ready before march 1st.

Hi Harpoon,

Nice project! You are ahead of me on my FXSTSSE3, pretty much the same transfo planned (Heartland, lowering rear, V&H 2-2) except that I was not thinking of changing the fork incidence. What lowering kit are you using? Keep up posting progress pictures!

Greetings     Lolo

Hi there!

I will keep You up to date. The lowering kit will probably be something from progressive and probably the 422 series, but I am still deciding.

Regarding the lowering kit I was also looking for the 422 Serie but I was told by my local dealer that a simple kit such as longer bolts would do exactly the same job at a quarter of the full system price. What do you think ?

I know people who have the extensions You mention, and they seem to do the trick. And as You say the cost is less. What I am looking for is not just the lowering of the bike, but also a better shock such as the 422 compared to OEM. But I might go this way depending on the total cost of the build, money seem to dissappear quickly when doing this kind of mods....

Harpoon....how did you accomplish the rake change on the bike?  I've always thought that the Springers could use a bit more rake and yours now looks just about right.

Took a couple of pictures of the tins, back from painter. The bike is coming together, and will be finished in a couple of weeks.

My friend who is actually doing the build for me, was the one who suggested going with classic scallops.
