2010 CVO ulta LED light bar
« on: January 24, 2010, 12:49:51 PM »

I was looking at the bike yesterday, and it looks like the corner lights on the tour pack are only running lights.  Can some one confirm this.  Maybe the one I looked at was not working correctly.

Unless something has changed now that they're LED's, the lights in the TP have always been running/brake lights.
Some have modified them to be signal lights as well.

I agree, but the one in the dealers showroom I was looking at yesterday did not have brake lights in the corner lights.

The center strip is the brake light, the corner lights are only running lights.

Any idea if the chrome bar that wraps around the lights (accessory add on) on the regular Ultra would work with these lights on the SE Tour pak lights?

No doubt the MoCo will come out soon with a chrome bar that is specifically designed for the new LED lights... I don't think the old bar would look right with the new lights, even though it may still fit.

Harley just released this LED Tour-Pak/Tail Lamp Kit for instalation on bikes other than CVO.  :orange: The problem, it only comes painted in black!  :confused5:  I own an 09 FLHTCUSE-4, and will purchase the part but want it painted in the stock HD colors...my bike being Stardust Silver & Twilight Blue. Can anyone help with matching color information (for the stardust silver) that I can pass on to a local painter? I tried HD but of couse they won't sell the paint or release any information. :soapbox:

It's worse than you thought... They did it in "flat black", so there goes my idea right out the window.  >:(

I just took mine to a bike paint shop and the guy matched it - near enough as makes no difference, so I guess any good painter should be able to do the same.

Thanks Jim, I agree any good painter should be able to come close to a match but you know what they say; close only counts in horse shoes. My painter can come close ... right now his is just a little darker than HD. I know someone out there has a "perfect match."

Well, nobody can tell mine isn't HD paint!  ;D   As it's a totally separate panel, a slight difference would never be noticed,, though mine appears identical. I'm anal about this, and when I say "close enough" I mean it's a perfect match!  ;)

Check out the pics here: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=41104.0;all

Any apparent difference is due to the angles that the different panels are at, compared to each other - colour and graininess is bang on, so your guy should be able to do it.

Well you certainly have a beautiful ride!! I guess I'll tell my painter to go ahead, he's good, and he will really try to get it perfect.

I am thinking this new LED Tour-Pak/Tail Lamp Kit will not work on your 09.
YES, anything can be MADE to work.
What about the holes (big holes) left in the tour pak from removing the existing lights?
What about the Screamin Eagle script plate?
Who knows how the paint looks under that light bar.
