Folks,
I have just finished sending a note to J.C. His thread about the "lurkers" caught my attention. I must confess that I feel quilty about the wealth of knowledge that is availible in this site. Without it, I would not be nearly as happy with my Autumn Haze. My guilt is that I have not returned what I have gained.

Probably two reasons for me doing this. One is that I ride in South Texas and we are in the peak season for great riding...not jabbing, because we will pay for it in the summer. I am spending all time possible on the Haze.
Second reason, is that this is the first ride I have had in over 20 years. I have rediscovered the joy of motorcycle riding. But my vault of knowlege to share with you is limited.

Again, this site has been wonderful. How can I and others like me share and help? I have lurked and used the info for great gain. I would like to give back, just let me know how.

Heard a little New England coastal state one time say "it's not the size that matters it's all about where you put it."

Yeah, 'er 'uh Twolane,
  That's too much information.  Later--HUBBARD

[quote author=bigmanken link=1137362760/0#13 date=1137456482]Actually guys, when you ride in South Texas... after passing the fire ant mounds, you have entered the "hill country". It is flat down here!!  :)
Flat and wide as in two days ride to get from one side to the other along I-10 or I-20. I've taken to riding the I-40 route east/west.Nice ride up through Arizona and New Mexico,Oklahoma, Arkansas etc.  Keeps me away from Houston traffic anyway and Amarillo's nice cept for the weird liquor laws.

Bigmanken,
Welcome to the site. I would think it's normal for some to just read and feel out the crowd before jumping in (at least it was that way for me). Once you get familiar and get to know some of the folks here, you will feel like you've known them forever and jump right in on the threads. For me even though I've only met a couple of the people on this site in person I feel that I know a lot of the members personally just from reading there posts. Heck, I even know what kind of beer the majority of them like, "cold" just like me. [smiley=drink.gif]

Uh, guys is this a sign we have too much time on our hands?

Spiderman, I do not like doing Houston traffic in my F-350, let alone the Haze.

J.C., you were right! Thanks! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

bigman  No, we do not have too much time on our hands (well maybe some of us do). I joined the site about 4 months ago and one of the 1st things I noticed and enjoyed is how some of the threads wander and drift. I'll admit that I got a little careless with it at first, but I think I've settled in good as of late. I like to think of this site as the CVO garage and it's like sittin around with a bunch of bros enjoyin a cold beer and talkin bikes.  Some threads stay technical and focused, others wander from the sublime to the rediculous. The site Zebras (moderators)  will let you know when you're too far afield. For the most part, the wanderings and musings of your brother riders will make you smile of not LOL
