Wow! Thanks guys! I think, however, I need to clarify a little bit.
I took a trip, actually my first trip, to the Black Hills area and on to Colorado in '06. In fact, this is the reason I have the bike I do now. I was absolutely heart broken that my wife didn't get to see all of these areas with me. So yes, the plan is to spend at minimum a day, if not a day and half or two in the Black Hills, Rapid City area, Badlands, etc... to show her everything I can.
What I'm particularly interested in is what Gettinold spoke of. The plan is that from Toledo we are going to work up 75, pick up 2, and head West possibly working to Route 8 in Wisconsin into Minniapolis, across Minnesota, thru Bismarc, ND and then South to the Black Hills. I'm definitely picking up the guide for the Michigan area. Again, what I'm looking for is Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Once we leave South Dakota, we'll take 90 back out to Milwaukee and would like to stop and see the museum. I planned for a day in Milwaukee around the museum, but I don't think the meuseum is going to take a day to see. So I could tag that time back to Black Hills. A lot of my time is going to be dependent on the travel between Toledo and Bismarc. Again, I have 9 days to get from Toledo, around the loop and back to Toledo. It's going to take me atleast a day to make Toledo or a little further. Historically, I try to do my trips - ride until I get tired, no destination for the day, if there's something we wanna see than we stop and see it, with of course the exception of the time to be spent in South Dakota.
