CD Won't Eject- HELP
« on: January 16, 2006, 06:58:41 PM »

Ok, now I'm really gettin' pi$$'d- put a cd in the cd player while the bike was in my garage on Accessory this afternoon and started sorting through to track 7... got to track 3 and the darn thing just froze on me.  Won't play the music, won't eject, won't even go back to radio, just stares back at me on track 3.  Turned the bike off, let it set for a minute, turned it back on.. still staring at me on track 3.  Ok, so I remove the main fuse, let the bike sit for 10 minutes, plug the fuse back in and now I'm on radio, but same thing... just stares at me.  Called the dealer- they say bring it in and we'll pull it out and send it back for a new one... But, I'd really like to have my cd back... Old Molly Hatchet... kinda sentimental about my tunes.  Anyone have any suggestions???  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Thanks...

Probably won't make any difference.  But the main fuse for the radio isn't the only powered circuit to the radio. If you want to completely reset it pull both or (maybe easier) just unhook the battery for a few seconds.

Thanks Twolane- when you say "pull both", I'm assuming you mean both the main fuse and the radio power and memory fuses?

Not being a smart ass here but you did push the eject button didn't you   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I've got radio problems again, it's been replaced once and now I can't get to the setup screen. Gotta take it back AGAIN.  >:(

Sorry Twolane- forgot it's called a maxi-fuse... but yep, done that. darn, darn, darn.

Thanks for all the other replies...
Yes, I did press the eject button, several times to no avail.
Temp in my garage is about 65
Good news you got your Zep CD back- hopefully I'll be as fortunate.

Bike should be off to the dealer this afternoon-
Might as well have them do everthing while it's there.
FYI here's all the issues...
1) Oil Leak
2) Garage door opener- transmitter needs replaced
3) Radio won't work- CD won't eject
4) Brake line recall
5) 1000 mile service

Rebel,

Most CD players have another means to eject stuck CD's, usually a pin or lever inside the chassis.  Once the player is out of the bike, they should be able to retrieve your CD.  Your dealer may have to consult with the radio supplier or repair station if they are not familiar with this.

Hi Folks-
Got my bike back from the Stealer on Friday.  Took them week and a day! (literally... I dropped it off the prior week on Thursday).  Anyway, they installed a new radio, and they tell me I'll get my CD back in the mail.  Didn't notice immediately when I picked it up, but the new radio display fogs up with condensation on the inside... so it'll be goin' back, but not until they have another new radio in hand to install same day.  The garage door transmitter was installed and works... now that's pretty slick.  The oil leak was from the oil filter housing, and the front brake line recall didn't apply.  Had my 1000 mile service done at the same time.
Oh Yeah, you know how they inspect the bike when you drop off for service??? Well... they just kinda throw it back at ya when you pick up!!!  Make sure you all do a compete inspection yourself before you accept it back... they had put a 3/4 inch long scratch in the back of my front fender... it rubbed out, but still, not the point- make sure you hold the stealer accountable too!!!
Took her out on Saturday for a 300 mile round trip run- about 50 degrees during the day, but when the sun went down, man it got C...C...C...COLD!!!!  I was still about a hundred miles from home at dark, but it was worth the ride!!!  A little Captain and Coke afterwards warmed me right up! Rebel,
Glad to hear you got your bike back and were able to ride some this weekend. Definitely couldn't beat the weather we had on Northeast this weekend. You got to remember to put that cold weather gear in them saddlebags/tourpak this time of year, as you found out (and probably already knew, but was so excited about riding it slipped your mind) when the sun goes down so does the heat.

Sorry you are still having problems with your radio, that sucks >:( Hope you are able to get it resolved to your satisfaction soon. Good point you made about checking bike after getting it back, never hurts to take time to make sure nothing happened to your bike while it was in mechanics care.

Thanks for the offer Wrongway- I might take you up on that if the MOCO doesn't get the cd back to me.  That's a cool pic too- it's always nice to actually meet some of the old bands.  I got a chance to meet and talk to some of the folks from Bad Company and Molly Hatchet down at the DelMarva Bike week in 2005- stupid me... didn't get any pics though.  Seems like Bike Weeks give us such a better opportunity to get close to these guys- after all, they are there for the party just like us, most of them are avid bikers too.   Gotta love it.
