Tulsa Windshield, Nice !
« on: January 17, 2006, 07:00:21 AM »

The 12 inch HD was too low. The 15 inch HD was too high.  So I had Allan at Tuls Enterprises cut me a custom 13.5 inch windshield.  FANTASTIC !  Not only is it stronger, I find it to be optically correct.  If you desire, you can get a vent put in too just like on the Wings.  Tulsa Windshields, -- GREAT STUFF, IMHO

Ok.  First time I have used this but...
 [smiley=worthless.gif]

I am 6ft and sit high in the saddle.  Stock shield seems low.  Even have trouble seeing top portion of gauges.  Wish I could tilt them up a bit, but I am sure will get used to it.

That's good to know. I had Tulsa shields in my GW days. Great product and excellent customer service.

Drebbin, thanks for sharing the info about Tulsa Windshields. I had the stock unit changed before it left the dealer. Went with the 15" Lexan (Magic, I'll try my hand at sending the pic later).

Your comment about the opiticals caught my eye (no pun intended),
it is not good on the Lexan.

Also, Magic, I am 6'6"...I fell your pain. I just grin and bear it! I did change the floorboards and footcontrols for a much more comfortable fit. I can actually use my rear brake know. Let me know if you are interested.

Those Tulsa windshields look nice! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Wow 6'6" bigmanken. :o you might want to check out www.clearviewshields.com they make windshields from 4.5" to 18" for the 1996 to 2006 Harleys. They can be clear or tint and even a Euro lip at the top as well as the vent in the center if you like, same as the Tulsa windshield. I don't think Tulsa goes up to an 18" windshield but the do make custom ones too according to their site.

Curious if anybody has had experience with the euro-lip available from several windshield suppliers. Visiblity, vibration, noise and contribution to high speed instability - any concerns? Please share any comments or concerns.

Pics would be nice.  Was going to consider ordering from HD but the prices on the the link with Tulsa appear much better.

Magic,

Will be happy to try it. The Haze is in the shop for a couple of days (installing Legend air suspension) and as soon as it is back, I will get the photo.

I would really encourage you to check the Tulsa windshield out. I have been unhappy with the optics of the HD shield. Also, thanks to the suggestion of VaEagle, I have contacted Clearview and will be ordering the 18" with the recurve.

You mean you actually look thru the windscreen and not over it?  :-? As far as the Legend Air, I hope you like it as much as I like mine.  :) Har!   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]spyder

Is this an 18" shield with recurve in the picture?
