Pumkpin with black engine
« on: February 04, 2010, 08:18:03 PM »

Has anybody changed or  rebuilt their engine on a seeg and changed it out to a black engine? I hate they gray not the looks just the cleaning the gray is so hard to clean after a long ride in the rain. Last time it was a four day weekend to the four corners rally and 1750 miles and about 1200 miles in the rain so you can imagine the hours of cleaning I had to do to make it look good again ? I spent 4 hours alone scrubing on the engine besides the rest of the bike.

I kinda like the silver. I have no problem keeping it clean. Maybe you're too picky. And it keeps it different from an ordinary TC..

You should try some Pig Spit on the motor after you get it clean. I use it on my black motor, brings the black back to new, but can be used on paint and chrome, no rubbing or wiping off. I was sceptical at first, but after trying it i really like it.

The silver just stains up after a long ride in the rain and the bugs stain the heads when on a 700 mile plus day of riding and my black engine on my wifes softail we just wash then s1oo the entire engine and we are done but not on the silver and yes I am very picky when it comes to my bikes I like to keep them looking better than new.

I was going to buy the s100 and the guy at the shop said he thinks the Pig Spit works better. I can say that the motor and what ever else like Chrome that I got the Pig Spit on beads water really well and for a long time, better than anything else I've ever used.

Engine brigthener works the best on black engines.  Hate the silver but the new granite is better still hard to clean.
