I was in Alexandria for a conference last week and there was an icluded a cocktail hour, with a well stocked bar.
So, since it didn't cost anything to try I had a some of this stuff.

Tried it straight and with a cube. Just don't see where it has much flavor. Kinda of reminded me of liquid cardboard

Going to the Kentucky Derby for years has made me a Maker's Mark fan. Even toured the distillery and went to a party for 1200 at the owner's house. You have your favorite bourbon? It is not bourbon if not built in Kentucky. That Tennessee stuff doesn't come close.

If you or her drink enough of it Duane, it will......Maker sick and leave a Mark on you. I dont know anything about the cardboard though.

I guess everyone's taste buds are different.  I haven't tried many whiskeys that compare to the smooth, unique taste of Maker's Mark.  It is not the most expensive, but it is my favorite.  I prefer burbons to any other type of whiskey.  This has nothing to do with the fact I'm from Kentucky.

Now my sister in law make the worlds best perfect Manhattan...3 fingers Makers, dash sweet Vermouth, dash regular Vermouth and a twist o' lemon, ya don't get your fruit thata way but UmmmUmmm good!

Man I love Makers so much, I even became an ambassador and have my own bottles out of a barrel that had my name on it.  Waited a long time for it to distill.  Never ever thought it tasted like carboard.
