Dyno run gear
« on: February 13, 2010, 04:14:01 PM »

Just got my bike back from engine build & Dyno run.. It shows 4th gear numbers on the dyno sheet.
Is that normal or did they inflate the numbers by using fourth gear... Just wondering what is the standard.

Received info from reliable source...4th gear run is the old standard..Now the industry standard is 5th gear.
He said my 4th gear is just fine but would show a few more ponies with a 5th gear run.

because of the tall gearing of HD's, especially the new 6 speeds, its better to do it in 4th because running it to 6000 in 6th would be like almost 200 mph, which is bad for the tire...
