Micheal Moore is a disgrace, a slob, unappreciative cretin. I am a lover of people, friends and my Country. I have never called anyone a horse's ass until reading and studying his brand of politics that says "crap on everyone but give ME more". A total and complete sad commentary of a person. If he was on fire, not only would I not pis* on him but I would try to prevent any other scum from pis*ing on him. Even his name being mentioned on this board is a disgrace of fine and devoted people and I hope this thread is forever deleted. Any questions?

I must be missing something here.  Yes, Michael Moore is a piece of crap, a jackass, a slob, and a few hundred other unflattering things as well.  But what about the actual subject, which should concern the hell out of anyone who flies these days?  Do you really want some young semi-trained, sleep deprived, underpaid and unhappy individual sitting in the cockpit bitching to the copilot about the chitty job while the plane you're in flies into the ground? 

Since deregulation of the airlines, the senior pilots have lost their pensions, half their pay, and many of the work rules that kept them from being exhausted at the controls.  The new pilots hired to fly the commuter planes tend to be undertrained, overworked, and kept in poverty.  Do you really want the folks in the cockpit working for less than the clerk at your local Walmart? 

BTW, the folks at the airlines who only fly desks still make the six, seven, or eight figure salaries.  Glad to see the priorities are right.

  You are correct sir!  Focus on the message, not the messenger.  A common political tactic is to attack the person to throw off the merits of the issue.  What about Captain Sully?  The facts came from him, not the slob.

Hey Jerry                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Do you have personal experience as a pilot ? I have known a few pilots and as the economy has changed and fixed costs need to brought down.I think you could find                  
              a few cases of under paid pilots. Im quite sure that there are underlying circumstances for all of the irregularities. Its the misinformation that is deceiving. Obviously         no one wants underpaid and overworked people in the cockpit, but working for less than clerks at walmart, seriously !

              The new pilots hired to fly commuter and cargo planes are just less experienced, not under trained. Do you know how many hours it takes to earn a commercial
              licence? its about 1500 hours. As a new pilot they often earn time and low pay working there way up the ladder to full licence status. In fact most commercial jobs
              require 3000 to even consider a pilot.

              With all that being said its not really a valid topic of concern. It just is presented in a manner to instill emotion in the people that only look at the surface and
              dont really want to take the time to look any deeper.

              And that was my whole point !!  He is a liar and a jack a$$ for exactly that reason.

Michael Moore isn't saying it!!!
Those are real pilots and very accurate numbers they are giving you.
Captain Sully isn't telling you that to be dramatic...he's not that kind of guy.
I will not encourage either of my kids to be airline pilots.
Most pilots I know have 20+years and are now involved in something "on the side" ...real estate, home inspectors, own business, part time police, etc...

If I was starting over 25 years ago I would do it again....If I was 18 and starting tomorrow....NO,
