dragonfly mini tach bracket

anybody running one of these?  I'm wondering how they attach to the console.  Looks like you pull the console and drill a couple of holes, then bollt it from the inside?????  My brother has a machine shop, and I'm going to have him fab me up something similar.

had planned to use one but it doesnt fit an 02 SERK console
