SEUC Engine replacement
« on: February 18, 2010, 12:47:05 PM »

Just wondering if anybody has been successful with the MOCO in having their 110 engines replaced due to problems like pinging, blowing gaskets, excessive valvetrain noise etc. Probably, this will be aimed at the members here who have the '07 & '08 SEUC models, but could possibly include any
model fitted with the 110 engine from the factory. My engine has had 5 base seal replacements, 2 blown head gasket sets, engine valvetrain is loud,
and the engine has pinged constantly since new. Current mileage is 15,900... I'm working with the dealer to have the entire engine replaced. Just was
wondering if anybody else out there has had to do this, and were successful in coordinating this between their dealer and the MOCO. I'm tired of having
to put mine in the shop, for the same problems, time and time again..

Replaced mine with Jim's 131. Runs cooler and more power. So far very happy.

MOCO replaced my first 09 SERG, the dealer had it a month, finally the rep said to replace the bike and MOCO agreed. I know have one same color with no problems in the last 8,000 miles.  Doc

Looked into lemon law, it could happen but, after all the BS that you will have to go thru, the dealer will hate you, and black list you, for sure. Everything goes thru the regional "source rep" and they keep track of all major warranty issues going on within their region. All I really want is my bike to run for long term with minimal problems. I"m not looking to F@#k Harley, I just want my bike to run right. UPDATE: Service manager talked with "source rep" over the phone today and asked for a new engine for my bike. Source rep said he would have an answer by Tuesday, so, Im going to keep my fingers crossed, and hopefully the chips will fall my way. A new engine would be SWEET..... :orange:

Man reading about the 110's make me glad I have a 06 103.  I would go nuts over the issues you guys have had to put up with.

After having the heads and cylinders replaced on my 07 SEUC in Dec. 08, the flywheel broke apart on my way to the 105th in Aug. 09.  Moco gave me a late 08 110" as a replacement and shipped my bike back to my hometown.  I think that the anniversary celebration had the customer service being extra nice to people with problems that weekend.  Of course the bike was under the original warranty at the time, but they did not have to ship the bike back at their expense.

Is the MoCo replacing your engine under the new vehicle warranty?
That is correct..

Was this mainly a '07 and '08 model year problem? If so, does anybody know what changes were made?

My Bike is now in the shop for her heart transplant, meanwhile the dealership gave me a beautiful 2010 Black & Silver w/ red pinstripe, Ultra Classic, to commute on for the week while they are dialing in my '08 SECU.  So far, life is good... JohnT. :orange: :huepfenjump3: :mango: :bananarock:
