These tire air pressure systems are also available as a valve stem sensor that relays the data to a dash unit though I dont know one with a small round gauge. I have been looking at a system from here http://www.doranmfg.com/tirepressuremonitorproducts.htm for my truck. These units will be dropping in price and already some knockoffs are appearing on ebay. These are going to be required by law on all vehicles by 2008 I believe.

I have the oil temp. guage, looks like the other guages unless you just want to get super critical and it works fine.

mattm,

I've been looking for an oil temp gauge to fill that hole, since the oil temp is a whole lot more important on these bikes than the outside air temp (the wet finger still works fine for air temp and wind direction, don't need a gauge. Doesn't work that great for oil temp though).

Roger Mc Ewan Enterprises (951) 736-4421 during normal business hours (PST).

Here is a picture of Roger's oil temp. guage next to two stock guages.  (sorry about the bad photo......new camera and just learning it)

The number I listed above is Roger's most recent, from a year ago.

My gauge.

I have the same phone number and he never answers his messages. Maybe next time I'll call as a new customer [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

BTW, my picture is not blurry, what you are seeing on the gauge is moisture that is on the inside. This is something I get only after I have been riding awhile, at least 1/2 hour.

I have called Rodger several times with negative results. I don't mind the slight gauge difference, but the moisture really irks me.

Porthole, I wouldn't have minded the gauge difference as much as I did if he hadn't told me beforehand that differences I'd specifically asked about didn't exist when, in fact, they did.  There were really lots of subtle differences that all tolled to something quite noticable.  From what several have written here in the last several months you're not the only one who can't get hold of him either.  Seems to have become a UFO.

I'm suspecting the McEwen enterprise may have gone "south".  They had a large inventory of his gauges here at the local shop, had some warranty questions come up and have not been able to reach him in a month or so.  Just don't know, but seems you would keep an active number if you were active in the business.

...subtle differences.....

I agree Don, but I bought the gauge with this knowledge, which I gratefully gleaned from this site

Happened to stop by the dealership after making the post earlier today.  No one had heard from McEwen, but parts manager also feels that HD is bringing out a "match" for the various confingurations of gauges.  That would be very good news.  Will post when I get the new part number.

Where is the temp sensor located?  I think I recall reading how somone relocated it a few inches from where it was located by the factory to achieve a more accurate reading.

I have one of those "instant read" versions noted above.  Unfortuantely it only goes to 220 degrees and the guide on the side is missleading.  Is says my Pork (Hog) is done at only 160 degrees ;D   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
