I am in Amherst (Rt 60 west). It will be some time before I can even get the bike out of my 1/4 mile gravel driveway which looks more like a cow path at this time.

Where abouts?  I used to live off of 631 in Mt Pleasant - would head up 778 or turn rt at Ogden's Grocery.  Before that, lived 1/4 mile north of the traffic circle.
Rode a Moto Guzzi and Yamaha in those days 1980 - 86.

Good point and will do. I am on the boarder between NC and Va. I actually live in Camden~ 10 miles from Chesapeake Va.

South Mills, just down the road a couple of miles from the state line on 17. I'm not an organizer but if you want to ride out one day let me know. Some Sunday mornings when I get off work, I like to head out toward Muffreesboro to the Tar heel BBQ for breakfest. When the ol goes we do the little restrant in Corapeake for lunch.

I have a farm about 1/8 mile west of the turn to 778. I also sell horse hay so You can not miss my driveway (Hay for sale).
Rt 60 is very busy on the weekends as you can't count the number of bikes going to the parkway or just making the circle up 130/501 and then back to 29 on Rt 60 and most of the non harley riders are going way too fast for the road. I saw one guy rinding past my house on one wheel going about 80 then about 10 seconds latter another one and then a cop on their tail.

Same here Rogerkmac,  I havent been on my bike since Thanksgiving.  This is the first Winter in "i dont know how many years" since I havent ridden during the Winter months.   I chose not to get it out during the very brief stretch we had in January to ride because of the salty roads.  It wont be as long as it has been hopefully.   Goodbye Jan & Feb!!!!!
