passenger floorboards for 2006 flstfse2
« on: January 20, 2006, 05:16:32 PM »

[smiley=confused5.gif]any body installed the new alerion passenger floorboards yet. the stock mounts make the board stick out further than the driver boards. i installed a set of aftermarket boards that bolt to the standard footpeg mount but i would rather have the alerion boards

None that I've seen.  I installed the Alerion passenger footpegs.  Though I'd be interested in seeing your passenger floorboards from a few more angles.  Do they fold up..

You need the footpeg support, though it comes with a nice clip it doesn't keep the peg up well enough so you will propable want to replace the pin that come with it with a chrome bolt and nut you can torque down nice an tight.

fatboy2,  Beatuiful bike!  On a different subject...There is a protective film under the stock seat...I noticed it looked as though you had removed yours...if so, how?  When I added the two-up seat...this protective film is not completely covered.  I have the same 2up seat that you are using.  Again...that's a nice bike!

Phat, there is no real need for that, or is it needed for the factory seat only?

tunedse2 the protective coating extends way past the seat hold down bolt because the stock chrome rear pillion will scratch the paint when bolted down

Phat, I was asking ANYONE that would listen...thanks for the advice.  The protective coating doens'nt look that bad, but it bothers me and I will probably work on getting it removed.  I will probably use the 2up seat all of the time.  I'm in the process of looking for some saddlebags...something detachable.  My new tank came in 2 weeks ago (mine has a minor scratch), but I haven't had time to get it to the dealer(too much work here).  Anyway, thanks for the info!

If you're looking for saddlebags try HD# 90388-04.
They're not that big but it holds enough and they are detachable.
I had the dealer put 'em on, didn't need to relocate the turn signals and fit with the original pipes. not cheap but i like 'em. I'll try to post a picture.
