New parts available
« on: February 23, 2010, 08:57:59 PM »

I received an e-mail from Harley today and when I clicked on the link for parts, I was surprised at some of the items I saw.  Maybe they are online already, and I just haven't been looking lately.  The one paint set that's available for touring models is pretty awesome looking and maybe better than what we are getting on the CVO's.  Then there's the chrome starter cover and the LED king tourpack rear lamps that go the entire way across.  That LED lamp is pretty nice, but $480?  Anyway, some nice additions that are available.

I just checked, and I guess they are shown as new products on the Harley site.  I don't know if this is all new or if they have been on there for a while.

Dave

I ordered the chrome starter cover.
Doesn't fit.
For 96" motors.
110's have the bigger starter.

YES Sir.

Did you know there is a big difference from $69.95 and $550.00?
Or something like that?

Unless, of course, you got your chrome starter like I did.  When mine went, I upgraded to the chrome for $101.  It almost made it worth breaking down.

That's a pretty nifty looking paint set though.  I'd say it's more than worthy of CVO material.  It actually looks like a CVO paint scheme that they just didn't use.

I agree it's an awesome paint set, but rather expensive.

Unfortunately the LED light bar for the TP only fits 2010 Ultras or any year TP that doesn't already have lights in it.

So did I.  But when that one bit the dust 25k later and it was up to the extended service contract to repair it they would not spring for the chrome starter since it was not OEM.  Rather than pay the freight a second time I just had them put the OEM black starter in.  Heck the way my D&D Fatcats route from the rear cylinder it pretty much hides the starter anyway.

Did the same thing with the chrome starter cover. Bought it, tried it, returned it does not fit on 110".
