TW 7 cams
« on: February 26, 2010, 05:06:18 PM »

Looks good, I would be happy with that.

Just curious, it seems the TW7's are mentioned in nearly every thread about 110's and cam swaps.
Does anyone have a dyno with TW7 cams and AC/exhaust only mods?

There are enough of you guys who really understand this stuff recommending those cam's somebody has to have a dyno print-out.

Thanks for the info on the 574's

A-typical big broad torque curve, that those cams have the reputation of producing.
Who tuned it?? :)

Thanks tw.

Now I see why they are so frequently recommended.

Almost 120 tq and well over 100hp with just cams, exhaust and air cleaner.   Nice.

Anybody else??

Don't get too caught up in just numbers, Those numbers will be lower on an SAE corrected printout. The TW7 is a good cam for the 110" for sure, great torque curve

hd-dude, do you like the tw 7 over the 574's. Which one of these two would be a better bolt in with no other mods except exhaust?

Either cam works well in the 110" Hard to pick one over the other. I can tell you that the 574 is as quiet or even quiter than the stock cam. The Wood cam is a bit noisy.........

The curves on mine were the same with the numbers being lower.
Mine was an SAE corrected.
Over a hundred T down low and stays above a 100 till 5700.
I'm sold on the TW7H.
Got mine from Jim, hd-dude.

We have used Bob Wood cams almost exclusively since the mid-nineties, and are his largest account, on planet earth.
The torque delivery of those cams, backed up with the proper cylinder head for the intended application, NEVER seems to dissapoint the folks that run 'em.
Most make mention of the increased fuel economy as well. :)

54 cam is a great bolt in , one vs the other going to a extremely close match.

The 7 will produce more torque in the riding envelope all things considered. If that is the goal I recommended the TW5-6 and if a hot rod is the goal then move to TW8-6. The 5 and 7 are just too close IMO and the 110 heads will like the shorter duration when torque production at low to mid range is the goal. Add compression and then jump up to a grind that will deliver, the TW8-6.
