just bought an oil cooler.  ill be replacing the rocker box gaskets and a couple hoses this weekend.  hopefully this will fix some of my problems.


you know there's a thread that will give you all the information that you need in order to access the rear top rocker boxes ... right ?   look at the STICKIES here, you'll find it

if you haven't, you might want to check out this thread .... lots of reading, but some of the information in there is invaluable to you if you've never removed the rocker boxes on an FXR before.

o i wont be doing that by myself!!  i have a mechanic buddy with all the tools thats helps me wrench on it.  i read the thread, and took back the harley gaskets i bought, and then bought some james gaskets.  i'll be tearing into it on monday. 

the weather is getting real nice, i gotta have my moto ready!

well im giving up on this hotshot motor...too much of a pain!!  the rocker boxes love leakin oil!  and nothing seems to fit right!  i just purchased a 113 S&S IST with a 600 cam, cost me $8000, but i love the bike so money isnt an issue..  it should be ready in two weeks..hopefully ready for the laughlin river run.  i'll post pics when its installed.

well i decided to get the 113 S&S Super Stock motor.  it finally came in, and hopefully by next week i'll be breaking in the new motor.  it sure is a pretty beast, with a lot of 21st century technology.  gotta ready have it ready for the laughlin river run!

Nice upgrade, really dig it... What did you do with the old motor? I've been looking for a reason to do a fat tire FXR..  8)

i still have it...trying to sell it. 

btw..took the old drag pipes off and threw a thunderheader 2 into 1...now she rumbles!!
