My FXR3
« on: February 27, 2010, 02:12:31 PM »

Here is my FXR3.  I bought it at the local dealership for a steal.  The previous owner had done crazy amounts of upgrades.  Here are a few pics to give you an idea.

I dont know if it was the green or blue flame model.

now here is one of my questions..the motor i have in that bike was built by hotshot in upper sandusky ohio.  i want to take that motor out and put a 113 el bruto motor in there.  has anyone had any experience with those motors?

Nice Cruiser!  I have an FXR2.  It's strange that the previous owner would remove the belt and install chain drive.  I guess that's why Harley sells accessories - so everyone can do their own thing!

If, during your modifications, you ever want to upgrade seats, I would like the opportunity to buy the stock seat shown in your pictures.

Ride Safe.

You should be able to get the original bike color off the VIN as the paint code is in there somewhere. Would be a shame if it was a blue flame as so few were made. I know guys on this board would want to know if it was as they are trying to find them all.

I do not believe paint codes are in the VIN. Also HD does not make specific sequence numbers to a specific color.

wonder why he changed to a chain drive .........
unless you have so much power built into it that it just blows the belts off, no sense going to chain drive .... interesting

yeah it has a 107 in it...baker 6spd, pm brakes, a primo primary...the cam has .653 lift, and 10:1 compression in the cylinders, and the pistons are friggin huge....I have all the receipts, and dyno chart..at 3000 RPM its producing 145hp and 153 foot pounds of torque..its actually an interesting engine...the lower case is STD evo..the cylinders are axtel vtwin..and the heads are STD evo.  it runs like a raped ape..

i was looking at the el bruto 127, but i didnt wanna get too crazy.  the motor i have has a lot of issues as far as heat and leaking oil like a sr-72, i dont want the headache of always having to wrench on it for one thing or another.  i just wanna ride...if you look where the heads meet the cylinder...it doesnt match up properly even with a custom gasket from cometic.  i have too much space in between the cylinders and heads that the gasket doesnt cover..but im installing an oil cooler, and im gonna replace the gaskets in the rocker boxes because i see oil seeping through.
