compression is a bit low stock for adding a bigger cam, u'd lose more down low than u'd be happy with... y not do the 95" stage 2 big bore, that uses the 203 cam for a well rounded package...

Cams are a very personal decision. What I may like, you may not.

IMO...  Both the 203 and the 204 HD cam will be nice "if" you want to stay with a Harley cam.

Both will give you a little better low end torque with a little bit of lope at idle. I've had both cams on a stock 88 and was pleased with the pulling increase when two up. I've since then changed to Andrews TW26a that I liked better. Also they seem to work well with stock head pipes. If you haven't already, you should discuss getting a tuner also. This will help you take advantage of a new cam.

Look at page 7 of the attachment if you want the Andrews specs.

Not a Moco cam, but an Andrews 26, will have you VERY impressed, with it's delivery. :)

If you can afford it I would go with a gear drive cam as opposed to the motor company's hydraulic fix.

Laylonlor, S&S has a bolt in cam for heavy bikes with lots of low end I think they call it the 510. . It is the same as the 510V they make for Evo Engines. Also Andrews has some good choices for improving bottom end in heavy bikes. If you go to a gear drive make sure your mechanic checks your pinion shaft runout first or you will have problems with gear noise. I think anything over .002 is unacceptable. Regarding andrews cams I used to have a Andrews 13 in my Evo and it make great torque, but it ran out of steam too fast on the top end.I guess you can't have both. Something similar to an Andrews 27 for a twin cam might be good. I think it is similar to a Harley 203 cam. Do you have freeflowing air cleaner and exhaust already? Good Luck CAHDBIKER

I have the S&S 510 gear drive in my 103 plus other work done and it performs very well.  I have read some posts were real motor heads do not recommend it but the previous owner put it in.

Those tend to be soft off the bottom, vs other .510 lift grinds that are available.

I pull out the 510s all the time and substitute Woods 5. The 110 head likes higher lift and duration kept short unless a higher rpm / power version is wanted then compression and cam get a bump up.

  Had he stated he had a 110" motor this might be worth while information, but he didn't

Some options to consider:

HD 203 as you noted
Mackie's TC510
S&S 510
Kuryakin TC2 D or TC2U
Andrews 21 series cam which is a .498 lift.

Most of these cams are 510 lift or under.  I did not check to see how many were chain vs. gear drive and if available in both.  Some things to consider anyhow.

No you will coil bind the springs.
HD cam = SE204

Seems to me the 204's and the 26 Andrews are very similar when it comes to low end and mid range torque. This is not on paper but my arse tells me this. When two up there was plenty of extra over the stock cams on my RK 88 and UC 96. I did find the 204's gave a little better idle lope if you are looking for that.

With only AC and pipe changes, both of these cams did me well when tuned properly (which is the key to wake them up).

Will agree with Deweysheads, no binding of the springs at all.
