Fired00d wonders how he can explain to spouse that he just had to have another leather jacket?

Delete Spouse would be one of the more creative ways of handling this  Puttin on the old knee pads and begging would be the least conducive to self respect. How about the old "Forgiveness is far easier to obtain than permission"

However, if this new oil level gauge does work, it may encourage those that don't check enough  :-X to check more often.

Looking at H-D's description for the oil level / temp gauge, I have to agree with Twolane's comment.

I've said it before and people made jokes, but I'll say it again. We should try to get the factory's ear. We are after all owners of their best products. (please mail me some cheese if you're gonna whine) It would appear that several aftermarket mfgs are paying attention to this site. Why not the MoCo. We have how many members ?  Start a couple of survey threads and download em to customer service. Just try to be positive and suggest what you like as opposed to what you don't like, I'm sure they hear plenty of that.

Let's try this one more time.....upon entering this discussion board, the following statement is posted...."Harley-Davidson in no way endorses or is affiliated with this site."  Quite simple actually.  We, as a site desire no input, censorship, vetting, sponsorship or supervision by the MoCo and conversely have no obligation to them.   Really seems to work well that way.
