Klock Werks Windshield
« on: March 04, 2010, 10:40:26 AM »

I was at the Daytona Bike week yesterday and I notice more of the Clock Weeks Windshield on CVO and the regular Ultra. I found the Clock Week booth and spoke with the sale person there and of couse he ha only great things to say about the there windshield. I also spoke to someone from VSteam windshield in Daytona and the same thing there said by them better functional. I did asked some rider that had them on there bike and they said they work better then the stander windshield. I have a 2006 CVO Ultra and was interstarted in the dark smoke 6.5 Klock windshield and wanted to know from this group that has this shield if they really like them or just something new to place on the CVO for show.

Thanks
Hank

Hank, I have the KW 6 1/2 dark on my 2006 CUSE and am very happy with it. I do get some wind, which I prefer, I need some wind in my face like most riders.
The biggest difference was the stabilizing of the front end. Noticed how well the front felt planted on our first ride with the shield. I like it.  Dave

Hank
Type the word windshield in the search feature and you will find dozens of threads about the subject and about a million opinions. Everyone has a different view depending on their height, seat,  bike setup, expectations of wind noise and turbulence.
Unfortunately the only way seems to be to try the windshield and see what you like. I have tried a few and this spring I have purchased my third  one---- new HD version(Road Glide) but have not been able to get the bike out yet to see how it is.

  Good luck with your search

BTW Dave the Sheild look awesome on your ride.

Hank,

I'm 5'7" and have a 6.5 Klockwerks on my '06 CUSE, Makes the batwing front end more stable, looks great  :2vrolijk_21:
I need a little more height on the 400 mi. plus roadtrips, Brian (Klockwerks) just released a 8.5 flare which i'm going to try, should give more protection for the BSR too.

I have the 10.5 on my bike and really like it. I'm 6'2" and the air goes over and around.

I have had the 10.5 which I bought in sturgis last year and just recently got the 8.5". For me the 8.5" is perfect and I am about 6' tall and use a sundowner seat.

I also have the 8.5" and prior to that the 6.5. Love the 8.5" on my '10 SESG. No real buffeting and I am 5'-7" so my eyeline grazes the top. As for stability, I can't speak to that as I didn't have much time spent with the standard/original windshield.

I love my Klockwerks 11".  I'm 6'3" and I can see over it just perfect and the wind doesn't drive me crazy.

I've been advised to buy the 6.5" size.

I had a 6.5 on my '07 Street Glide and just transfered it to my CVO Street Glide.  It seems like I sit a bit lower on the new bike, and the 6.5 is nice.  I am going to order an 8.5 to see what that looks like as well.  I've been very happy with the performance of the windshield.

I've got an '09 SERG in Silver Titanium and the reflection off the dashboard on the Klock Werks shield bugged me.  Kind of like having mail on the dashboard of your vehicle on a bright, sunny day.  Anyone else experience this?

Is yours clear or smoked?

Smoked.  I replaced it with a clear HD shield that minimizes the problem but I prefer the Klock Werks look.

Interesting, I'll have to see how the 8.5 works, have never had that problem with my 6.5.
