supertuner done then cruise control change
« on: March 04, 2010, 01:31:36 PM »

The possible v-max of the cruise control is 140km/h (87mph).
After the supertuner done it has changed to max 130km/h (81mph).
Anybody has the same "problem" or noticed a difference or change ?
The dealer tech master doesn`t know why neither how to solve it .

Not sure about the HD tuner but 2010 stock bikes cruise here are set to 150 kph or 93 mph.

Steve

Can the cruise control limit be reset changed on an 09 SEUC with the SERT, SSERT or Master Tune?

Hey Chip,

I don't see a way to do it in my documentation on the SSERT.  I have that on my PC.  I don't have the unit or bike handy to check it out and see if it's an undocumented option.

I could look into it but as of right now it's not something that we allow to be adjusted. The Mastertune files are set higher for the 2010 model year but I will have to go back and see what I did in the '09 product as that was too long ago and my pee brain doesn't remember.

Thank you for your interest ,
maybe the supertuner does influence or change something in reading the actual speed .
The speedometer shows the same "wrong speed" (+5km/h in comparison to the TomTom GPS) as before .
Also when you push the "set-buttom" of the cruise control to the left side (to return to your last stored speed especially when this was the max-possible-speed to fix) then the cruise control pushes too far so that the speed goes too high and the cruise control deactivates himself because it is over the max-limit , the sudden loosing of speed sucks and could bring one in a dangerous situation .

Hi Klaus,

1. TomTom must show at least 5 km/h less: under German ans EC law speedos must show at least 5 km/h more than the actual speed. This does not apply to GPS-speed-readings,, they try to give you the "real" speed - wich is minimum 5 km/h less  ;) So with this difference at least your speedo should be reading allright.

2. as far as I remember, the ECM does not use speedo-information at all and I doubt the cruise control does, it's deducted from some other sensor-information, but don't ask me wich one. This is the line to check out I believe ...

The calibration for the speedometer is contained in the ECM. If the calibraton for the speedometer is incorrect for your application it will cause the cruise to be off as well. Both the cruise control and the speedometer take there reading from the sensor in the transmission.

5 km/h = 3.11 mph

This would explain why my car's speedometer is off by 3 mph.  I always wondered why it was off!

Was ist das? Ich verstehe nicht. The Germans, who are admired worldwide for their precision, actually require by law, that the speedometers read incorrectly? I just love big government!!
