wind deflection on SEUC
« on: March 07, 2010, 08:37:52 PM »

I'm looking for something to get some air off of me coming from the lowers. I've tried the fork baffle but it seems to push more air to the lowers and then up. I want to keep the lowers,so does anyone have any help?

I just put on the Kuryakyn Dragon Wings and they did a good job of taking away the wind coming over the lower.  There is still wind at my knee level but I have no issue with that.  I also have the Freedom Wing Plus coming, but not sure if they'll add any benefit.  I also tried the front fork air baffle (HD) and there was no change, but it's pretty.

The wings showed up, but they don't fit on an SEUC.  I couldn't even come up with any kind of modification.  However, the Dragon Wings cut down the wind at least 50%, which I can easily live with.  Good luck.

I don't understand what either of you fellows are asking or talking about.  The SEUC comes with fairing adjustable wings and they are the same size as the Dragon Wings.   I have the baffle and Clearview windshield with recurvbe at the top and have no air turbulence.

The dragon wings are actually a little bigger, and whatever the reason, deflect more air.  I also ordered a Clearview windshield with the Euro lip, but it hasn't arrived yet.  Should be here next week.

There is definitely a blast of air that is deflected around the lower, and comes right up the chest to the head area.  The stock deflector didn't do anything for me.

Having battled wind management on 6 bikes now, with different issues on each of them, it's a personal battle, and we all have acceptable levels of tolerance.  I've got a garage full of non-functional attempts, old windshields, baffles, deflectors, etc.  Once I hit the right combination, though, it is sweet.

I like Chip have been wondering about this, I also have wind/air coming up from around the tank area. I've been told that I need a lower wind deflector :

I've yet to get on, but I think this might help you

I bought the OEM version of the air baffle and it didn't do anything.

This is what a riding buddy of mine told me when I was talking about the same issue:  "Hey dip chit, it's an F'n motorcycle"., wind bothers ya... drive your truck.   I've never mentioned it again.   He did have a point!

I'll agree if you say you haven't mod'd your bike to make it the way you want it.

but I do have a suggestion - remove the mid frame heat deflectors (saddle shields) then at least it will be Hot air  :D :D
