09 SERG Seat
« on: March 14, 2010, 01:21:04 PM »

The seat on my 09 SERG is terrible.  Got two Corbins for the 99 RK.  The touring Corbin on the RK is great.  I can't ride 100 miles on that SERG seat.  Bought the adjustable backrest for it and I installed when I bought the bike.  Had to slightly modify it to fit the SERG seat.  Helps my back but nothing helps my butt with that flimsy seat.  I get numb on that thing.  I've read several threads here on other suggestions for replacement seats.  Last thread I saw said Corbin was still working on a touring seat for the SERG.  Maverick had one that will work but moves you forward and up a little.  Anyone buy one of these lately for the 09 SERG?  If so, how do you like it?  What about one of the gel or air pads or pillow gel pad by Saddlemen?  Do any of the Harley touring seats fit the SERG and the installed adjustable backrest and ride better than the stock?

My Corbin Dual Tour transferred right over from my 2008 RG to my 2009 SERG.

Last year I rode 3150 miles in 4 days on the stock seat, the cheap foam had me bouncing ion the seat pan to the point that I had bruises on my ass!

Put a Mustang Ultra touring seat on mine and love it. Can  ride all day and not get sore.

I bought a factory touring seat and swap with the stocker depending on how many miles to go.  Love it!  Also have the little backrest pad on the TP (wife hates those "wings") and everything matches when touring.  Seat change is about 15 secs once that silly strap is tossed out.
If the seat changes don't help at all it's not the seat...start looking at suspension, your butt, maybe handlebar position.
