My daughter re-enlisting - U.S.Army
« on: March 27, 2010, 09:38:01 AM »

Went down to Ft. Hood, Tx to help my daughter move her Fatboy and her roomies Heritage Softail to Ft Leonard Wood, Mo. She will soon be posted there as a Drill Sergeant. This is only +5 hours from home so I can ride down and see my little girl more than once or twice a year.

She has completely recovered from her wounds (well as completely as she ever will) and set it up to re-enlist while I was down. The company gathered around a memorial for the MP's KIA for the service. Before the re-enlistment Kari was called up front for an award she did not know she was recieving. She is the company "Impact NCO" which is what the award was for.

!st pic is her running up front after her name was called. Never got that done when she was littler  :nixweiss:

Their company is the "Gunfighters" and they give out a special belt buckle for those that have been there and done that with the company and re-enlist. Upon demand from the Sgt Major the buckles were displayed. Kari received her 2nd buckle this day

She called me forward, said a lot of nice things about me which really touched me. Then presented the buckle to me.

I proud of my kids. Ones a cop, the other an MP. They do me proud!

Given the injuries your daughter received while defending our country, combined with her reenlistment, this is a testament to the will and dedication of not only her but our youth in general. The silent minority if you will. A testament to the will of fine young Americans whose demographic is easily labeled as lazy and even unpatriotic. She gives me hope for the future of this great country. Please extend my thanks as well. God Bless her and all our men & women serving this great country. The fact that they are all volunteers is a statement in and of itself. Great kids Jeff  :2vrolijk_21:

Jeff congrats to you daughter and yourself. Please thank her for her Service to this Great Country. I have always cherished every milestone my daughter reached while she served 9 years in the Air Force Reseves. She is continuing in the Military life as she is married to a active duty Marine.  Again keep us informed of her progress.  :2vrolijk_21:

Will do. There are still many young people doing the right things for the right reason, we just hear about the others more now.
